It’s October! Sadly, due to Justin going on a work trip just before celebrating his mom’s birthday last week for her 70th, he got sick. Then, he gave it to me!
I had largely avoided getting sick over the past two to three years after my bout with long Covid (yes, it’s a thing — sickest I’ve ever been!) but this time after being in close quarters with Justin, it got me.
I spent extra on stuff to try to help me to recover quicker.
We also had a $590 repair for our A/C system. That was quite big, and I needed to work extra on the side hustle once I recovered to cover that expense.
Thankfully, I also got some great deals!
BOGO deals & shoes

Publix had some good sales on BOGO items, and I took full advantage! I got tea, Justin’s protein bars, coffee and we tried some Liquid Death water since it was on sale.
I also got some clearance keto, gluten-free hamburger buns and stocked up on those, as well as saved on organic apples.

$90 so far in credit card rewards

On October 4, I was able to redeem $90 in credit card rewards. Score!!
Beans for the win

This month, I also began eating more beans for dinner for a low-cost, high-fiber, healthy dinner. I put a little balsamic vinegar on them for flavor. Not for everyone, but perfect for me! Tip: To avoid the after-effects of beans, I rinse them in water throughly before eating. No major after effects experienced. 😃
Free football game on the big screen

It got COLD outside, and we bundled up to watch a college football game a nearby city center was hosting. I know we have said we wouldn’t be able to have dogs if we were living on a Social Security budget, but they did come with us. Here’s Sunshine on my lap like a little baby (a long baby, as you can see! 😂

Until next time, enjoy this month! 🎃
